Big Dreams, Bright Futures: Our Prep Careers Evening Sparks Imagination

From the moment they can talk, our little ones are bursting with ideas about what they'll be when they grow up. Firefighters, nurses, maybe even a princess or a dragon slayer – the possibilities are endless! And that's exactly the spirit we wanted to capture at our first-ever Prep Careers Evening. We wanted to show our children that here at AKS Lytham, their dreams really can take flight (though we might gently nudge them away from full-time dragon slaying!).

The atmosphere in the Prep School was electric. We were thrilled to host our inaugural Prep Careers Evening, giving our pupils a fantastic glimpse into a whole world of professions. Having invited some brilliant local businesses and professionals to set up interactive stands, they really went above and beyond to engage and inspire our students.

Head of AKS Preparatory School Mrs Ilhan expressed how she was “delighted to see so many children attend the Prep Careers Fair”.

From listening to the gentle thump of a lamb's heartbeat, to picking the brains of a famous YouTuber, there was something to pique everyone’s interest, no matter how big or small their aspirations.

The aim of the event was to broaden pupils' horizons and ignite their curiosity about potential career paths. Through interactive stands, children were encouraged to ask questions and explore their interests. The event fostered a sense of excitement and possibility, demonstrating that learning extends beyond the classroom and into the wider world.

This Careers Evening perfectly reflects our commitment to providing a rounded, enriching education. We are dedicated to providing our pupils with an exceptional education that inspires them to achieve their full potential.

“My thanks go to Mrs Bleasdale and Mrs Jackson for arranging the event, and to the participants running the stalls.” Mrs Ilhan continued, “I am very grateful to you all for giving the children this great opportunity to inspire their curiosity about future career aspirations at such a young age.”

Thank you to all of the local businesses that took time out to attend this event;
