This term has been full of creativity and artistic achievements. Both our Year 7 and Year 9 students have been busy with exciting projects that showcase their talent and imagination. Here’s a look at what’s been happening in the Art department.
Year 9 Beach Hut Project: A Splash of Creativity
Our Year 9 Art students have truly excelled in their Beach Hut project, with each piece designed and painted to reflect the individuality and creativity of its creator. These vibrant, one-of-a-kind artworks feature unique colour palettes, intricate details, and a strong sense of personal expression.
Some students have taken their work even further by turning their painted Beach Huts into fully functional clocks! This innovative approach adds a practical element to their artwork, demonstrating a fantastic blend of art and design. We couldn’t be more proud of how they’ve pushed the boundaries of creativity.
A selection of these remarkable pieces will be exhibited at the Lytham Heritage Centre, alongside artwork from other year groups. It’s a fantastic opportunity to see the amazing talent of our Year 9 students and appreciate their hard work. Be sure to visit the exhibition and celebrate their achievements!
Year 7 Colour Wheel Exploration: A Burst of Colour
Meanwhile, our Year 7 students have been diving into the world of colour theory, exploring the colour wheel through exciting and creative homework projects. From handmade jewellery to vibrant cakes and even a colourful jumper, the Year 7 students have brought colour to life in the most imaginative ways.
Their work has been a fantastic display of their growing artistic skills, demonstrating how they can apply colour theory in diverse and fun projects. It’s wonderful to see how their understanding of colour is evolving, and we are thrilled with the creativity they’ve shown in their interpretations.
The Year 7 projects highlight just how much our younger students are learning and growing in their artistic journey. T
